The case funds $180,250 of startup uses with $120,000 illustrative debt and $60,250 owner equity. Its assumed 10.5% fixed rate over 60 months produces $2,579 monthly debt service. Those are modeling terms, not a lender offer. Finance the invoice-to-cash gap along with the fleet; truck financing alone does not fund payroll during the sales ramp.

Lending activity in the broader category
NAICS 484110 covers local general freight across fleet sizes, equipment and markets. It does not identify this two-truck Texas format, customer demand, underwriting probability or unique borrowers.
These are positive-amount loan records selected by approval fiscal year and PIF, CHGOFF or EXEMPT status at the stated snapshot. They are not unique firms, search volumes, approval probabilities or loans disbursed during that year.

Separate asset finance from working-capital finance
| Route | Can address | What still needs funding / confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment loan or conditional truck purchase | Specified vehicle assets; lender lien and conditions | Taxes, launch spending, reserve, repairs, fees and customer collections |
| Combined business loan / 7(a) discussion | Eligible equipment plus working capital, subject to lender/program review | Actual eligibility, useful life, owner contribution, security, fees and ability to repay |
| Full-service commercial lease | Vehicle use and defined service package | Deposit, fixed lease charge, mileage, uncovered repairs, insurance, reserve and exit terms |
SBA lists machinery/equipment and short- or long-term working capital among possible 7(a) uses, with a lender assessing the application. The model does not imply automatic qualification. 504 excludes working capital and requires qualifying long-lived equipment; these used trucks are not presumed to satisfy its equipment-life requirement. 7(a) rules; 504 scope.
A full-service lease can change who bears maintenance risk, but the provider’s description is not a quote for this fleet. Compare a complete truck and service specification, monthly charge, mileage allowance, replacement conditions, insurance and end-of-term obligations. The separate lease-versus-buy article contains a transparent sensitivity; it does not replace these purchase-case inputs. Leasing service scope.
Build the request from records that can be checked
Prepare the VIN-specific purchase and condition reports, tax and registration schedule, insurance binder or firm proposal, legal parking agreement, qualified driver/owner roster, route trials and customer payment evidence. Pair the sources-and-uses statement with monthly income, cash flow and balance sheets. Mark documents received, reviewed and still missing separately; a quote-required webpage is not a final purchase agreement.
The base Year 1 EBITDA divided by scheduled debt service is 1.80x. This simple ratio is not lender DSCR: it is before receivable growth and any owner personal tax, distributions, replacement CAPEX or underwriting adjustments. The company adds only $2,087 cash during that year. Request the lender’s actual repayment definition and test its required adjustments.
Complete the carrier gates before using financing
The chosen weight category requires active Texas carrier registration and proof of financial responsibility. TxDMV’s nonhazardous category above 26,000 lb shows $500,000 minimum liability coverage; a premium budget cannot prove a policy meets that limit. Customer and lender contractual limits can be different, and cargo and physical damage cover need separate scope review. State filing requirements; Cargo coverage.
Confirm the driver classification, medical and qualification files, testing program, load securement, inspection/maintenance records and whether any freight is interstate commerce. The base employs one driver and compensates the owner as the second; it assumes no independent-contractor savings. If interstate authority is needed, revise registration, insurer filings, taxes/credentials and safety obligations before accepting the load. Property-carrier authority; Testing scope.
Read the industry program mix without turning it into an offer
In approval FY2025, 621 of 645 selected records are 7(a), or 96.3%; 24 are 504. The latter count is below the profile’s 25-valid-value minimum, so 504 financial medians remain suppressed. The broad category does not distinguish two-truck startups, leased vehicles or this state. Snapshot and denominator.
FY counts compare cohorts by approval date and status at one cutoff. Recent approvals have had less time to fund. They do not measure applicant approval chances or demand for a new carrier. Read the dedicated SBA industry profile for the broader category’s defined samples and downloadable aggregates. Use the existing lending explorer for methodology.
Treat the reserve and the downside as separate decisions
Base minimum cash of $7,809 gives a narrower cushion than the opening $45,000 reserve suggests. The tested slower-collection case reaches −$22,305. The lower operating case requires $268,164 additional funding at its 60-month trough because margins and volume stay inadequate. Borrowing that deficit would add debt service and is not assumed here.
Do not sign for both vehicles solely because a financier covers the purchase. Determine who pays after an uninsured loss, engine repair, slow invoice or driver absence. If actual quoted costs or customer terms change, rerun all three scenarios and the funding bridge. The full narrative business plan will be generated by the owner and checked against the executed inputs; these five guides are the current delivery.
